Why INFERNO©™ systems are preconfigured
Getting it to work as you want it to
Getting it to talk to everything else you've got
Getting it secured, which can often take weeks for the inexperienced
Cars only come as kits, if I buy a kit. Why do computers always come as kits?
"A great question, and in my opinion, the answer is that the IT industry is still stuck in the 1980s when it comes to what people need, and what user-friendly means
. . . real empathy with the customer!"
"Everyone needs to work more efficiently, not more work. So stop re-inventing the wheel and invent the car! Wasted time is just a cost."
INFERNO©™ Computer Systems' method
Ok, no one else is going to do it, so INFERNO©™ Computer Systems did. Meet the car of computer systems.
INFERNO©™ Computer Systems only require two settings to be changed in your (ISP) modem-router, followed by connecting to the same network and powering up. There is your fully configured system!
You have spent less than 5 minutes getting it to work — how cool is that! Our systems are so easy to install and use that they give you the feeling of being an IT Guru. So easy in fact, they make putting up a shelf look like rocket science!
Imagine not having a single piece of professional IT equipment and needing it working yesterday.
Then imagine everything from your LDAP domain controller to your administration workstation arriving preconfigured and ready to use. We are crazy you'd say.
But we're not, this is what INFERNO©™ Computer Systems is all about. Secure plug and use from day one.
The IT industry's method
Typically, computer systems and peripheral devices are delivered in the "default" configuration. This default configuration is either install on first boot or a minimal configuration. This leaves you, the customer, to invest one to four hours on average doing the following:
Network changes needed
the Modem-Router IP address to the one supplied with your purchase
the IP range setting from 0-255 to a smaller size in the middle of the range. Typically, this is set to 60-90, 90-110 or 110-140
as a rule, printers and other shared peripheral devices should always have a static IP address, so you may need to change these IP address numbers directly on the device
Only two settings needed?
Yep, just two settings as standard and in some cases three (for network-wide servers needing static IP addresses such as LDAP, e-mail, etc)
need saving in your ISP modem-router, followed by reboot.
Most home, SOHO and SME users do not use static IP addresses and leave the DHCP server in the modem-router as the IP number control server with its original static IP number.
This is easy because every device gets an IP address with no effort but these ranges are freely available on the internet.
More often than not, the DHCP IP range is also left as the full 255 addresses without a good reason.
INFERNO©™
Computer Systems see these settings as critical to standardizing the network for plug and use functionality. That is why we ask you to change the following settings:
