When you buy a car, you order and pay for it. After it is built, it arrives at the dealership. You
go to pick the car up, get in and drive away.
You don't need to get into the on-board computer and spend hours making it work. It just
performs its primary function from day one.
INFERNO©™
preconfigured HomeServers are based on the concept "buy, switch on, and trust".
Care-free networking from day one
INFERNO©™ deliver made-to-order,
fully functioning servers running no more than three high-level network tasks with a fully
functional back up (supplied on HDSD).
You pick what you need to do, select a matching HomeServer plus USB drive combination
and we deliver a plug and play system that runs from a USB drive (not an SD card).
Our HomeServers are designed to be easier to install than an IPTV box or a shelf. No further configuration is needed because we've done all the hard work so they are delivered fully preconfigured.
Just connect the HomeServer, make a couple of changes to your ISP modem/router (reboot it), and power on the INFERNO©™ HomeServer.
Monitoring is performed using either the HDMI video outputs or from a device in your network using a VNC Viewer. If you need to perform maintenance, you don't need to resort to the command prompt as the extremely useful Webmin is installed as standard on all our products.
Note: HomeServer products are built using the most reliable tech from the Open-Source community and we are greatly indebted to their development drive and innovation. However, without our integration expertise, their great products are not attractive to mainstream users. To support the Open-Source software community, a percentage RRP of each product is donated to the creators of the software used in our products.
HomeServer Range
As mentioned above, HomeServer products are built using the most reliable tech from the Open-Source community and we are greatly indebted to their development drive and innovation. However, without our integration expertise, their great products are not attractive to mainstream users.
All INFERNO©™ HomeServer are modular pieces of what we call the inferno.intra network. They have been developed with synergy as the basis enabling them to seamlessly integrate with all the other devices in the INFERNO©™range and with your ISP
modem/router. This synergy is your guarantee of reliability. Moreover,
we trust our INFERNO©™ modules that we
run them in preference to other well-known supplier products.

| Functional description | The INFERNO©™ HomeServer TMN
actively blocks unwanted content from any device connected to your network. It is a DNS sink-hole
for adverts, telemetry,
malware, trackers and the like using Pi-hole to provide network-wide protection, instead forcing you
to add browser plugins or other software to each device. Block in-app advertisements. Network-level
blocking blocks
trackers in both traditional (web browser) and non-traditional places such as mobile apps and smart
TVs, no matter what hardware or operating system is used.
Why have your own recursive Dynamic Name Server (DNS)? ISPs are using Transparent DNS proxies and forcing you to use their DNS ISP's are using "Transparent DNS proxy" technology to intercept all DNS lookup requests (TCP/UDP port 53) and transparently proxy the results. This is effectively forcing you to use their DNS service for all DNS lookups. If you changed your DNS settings to use an "open" DNS service such as Google, Cloudflare, Comodo or OpenDNS, and so forth expecting that your DNS traffic is no longer being sent to your ISP's DNS server, you may be surprised to find out that they are using transparent DNS proxying. You can easily test this by clicking here and running the dns leak test. |
| Blacklist/Whitelist | The HomeServer TMN provides network-wide protection against adverts, telemetry,
malware, trackers, P2P, viruses, bad domains and limited intrusion. HomeServer TMN operates as a
recursive DNS server to provide optimal
privacy and security. In this mode, any unknown DNS host is not requested from the next upstream DNS
server (such as Google 8.8.8.8 or Cloudflare 1.1.1.1) but directly from an authoritative DNS
root server.
HomeServer TMN has a blacklist of over 4 million blocked domains and a whitelist of the around 250 commonly allowed domains. However, it is very easy to add, move or remove domains from whitelist to blacklist and blacklist to white list using the buttons next to the entry. |

| Standard case | Argon ONE V2 Case for Raspberry Pi 4 The Argon one aluminum case cools the Raspberry Pi by acting as a heatsink and comes with a 30 mm temperature controllable fan. All ports on the rear of the case minimizing clutter and makes cable management easy. The power button can perform a safe shutdown, reboot, or forced shutdown depending on the length of time the button is pressed. Additionally, two full-sized HDMI ports, and IR for remote functionality make the case ideal for media centers. The GPIO pins are accessible on top of the case and protected by a removable magnetic cover. |
| VPN (home-server-vpn) | |
| Functional description | INFERNO©™ HomeServer VPN uses
WireGuard technology VPN which is widely recognized as the best VPN protocol incorporating
market-leading cryptography.
WireGuard makes INFERNO©™
HomeServer VPN faster, leaner and avoids the overhead loading when compared to other VPN solutions.
INFERNO©™HomeServer VPN is a safe way to remotely access your network. Typically, your network's internet connections pass through a dynamic external IP address (dynamic-DHCP) which can regularly change. This can make it difficult to connect to your home services from a remote location. Dynamic DNS is an easy way to solve this issue if dynamic-DHCP is used by your ISP. Routing your entire Internet traffic through a VPN can be advantageous in cases where you expect eavesdropping on the network such as on insecure open Wi-Fi networks (airports, hotels, trains, etc.) but also on another encrypted WiFi. Split tunneling allows access different security domains like the Internet, a LAN or WAN at the same time, using tunnels, open connections or a combination of both. For example, a split tunnel configured to tunnel traffic only destined to a specific set of destinations is called a split-include tunnel. When configured to accept all traffic except traffic destined to a specific set of destinations, it is called a split-exclude tunnel. |
